Bruce Pott

Equine Practitioner and Surgeon
One of the founding partners, Bruce Pott graduated from the University of Queensland in 1970 and established the Townsville Veterinary Clinic in 1975.
Bruce is one of Australia’s most experienced and respected equine practitioners over the past 20 years. Bruce was admitted as a Member of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in 1990 after gaining post graduate qualifications in Equine Surgery. His vast experience and local knowledge make him an invaluable member of the equine team.
Bruce remains an executive member of the Queensland Australian Veterinary Association after serving a term as Queensland President and is also a Policy Councillor for Equine Veterinarians Australia. His areas of interest include Infectious Disease Control in Veterinary Practice together with equine surgery, lameness exams, equine Pythiosis optimising performance and the general well being of the equine species.
The Townsville Veterinary Clinic is actively involved in undergraduate training of JCU veterinary students and Bruce has a lecturer’s role in that teaching programme.
